I have to admit, I was pretty shaken up after investigating one of the posts about satanists celebrating the winter solstice with Christmas trees, wreaths, garlands, and all things considered Christmassy. I knew the tree had pagan roots. I've done this research before, but can't remember why I chose to go ahead with the Christmas tree. I was sure I had a good reason, I just can't remember what it was. So I reinvestigated to see if I should come up with a different stance this year.
It was clear the origins of the Christmas tree was pagan, and satanic, even. But I wanted to know which Christian decided to use it for Christmas and more importantly, why. So I came upon a post by Focus on the Family which led me to a piece of history, retold as the tale, "The First Christmas Tree".
And now, I know why.
