Am I in a cult?

Question: It's led by a prophet who makes rules.

My Answer:
I attended a short course on this. First of all, a cult adds or subtracts to the Word of God. 

Matthew 5
 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 

So as long as the Bible you are using is a normal one like KJV, NKJV, NIV, etc. you should be fine.

There are still prophets today. John the Baptist was not the last. Way after John the Baptist, this is what Paul says:

1 Corinthians 12:28
And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.

But everything that this pastor says must still be supported by the Word of God. If he says anything against the Word of God, that is reason for concern so read your Bible well. Is there anything he said that is cause for concern?

Also,.. prophets don't make rules. Nobody does. We do not live under the law anymore but under grace.

Hebrews 7
For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, 19 for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
28 For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.

Any leader who makes rules that are unscriptural is leading a cult organisation. So again, what rules?

Woman Leadership

I am convinced of God’s call upon my life. And am prepared to do anything He asks me to do, whether I receive approval from anyone or not.  It’s so important to read the Bible in context and to know the history of Corinth and how the women in their temples were prostitutes calling the men to have sex with them as part of their religious ceremony; and how they thought the church would be the same. Lazy teens

A teen is not a kid anymore. Then again, boys mature about 3 years slower, so just take that into account.  When faced with lazy teens, we need to find out the root issue — is it a spirit of laziness? It has to be addressed. He needs to know that it is a spirit and not him. And that he has to fight it. And what happens when spirits like that are not warded off. And how they can ultimately possess a person when entertained and given into. If it’s not laziness, it is a lack of motivation. What do they really have in mind that is really bothering them or they are inspired about and work on that.
