Q: My hubby just got saved and is always praying in his office that he doesn't have time for me or our newborn and toddler. He wouldn't listen when I try to tell him that. Is going to church 4 days a week normal?
A: He's on fire. Let him be for a while. I've seen worse complaints. He lacks a little spiritual maturity in this matter. He is like a young Christian. It's a good thing, but it won't be forever. So enjoy it while you can. He is a newborn Christian. And as a newborn Christian, he is naive and will make a ton of mistakes. You just need to be extra patient with him and tell yourself he will grow up one day and you'll miss this.
If you pour cold water on him now, whether directly or indirectly through someone else like a religious leader, two things could happen: he will either resist you even more (because of his lack of understanding, he will think you're not on fire enough) or he will be so discouraged (being corrected by a spiritual leader too early) that he will be confused and loose heart entirely. Don't ever pour cold water on a fire. It can erupt in flames. Just let the fire settle into a nice amber. Give him a few more months, and you'll start to see small changes. Be patient and kind please.
