Feeling awkward about wealth

Q: Feeling awkward with friends that are barely making ends meet when we are very well to do financially. We go for long trips but I tell my kids to keep as much as possible a secret. I don't know how to respond when I hear my friends struggling to make ends meet. We give to church a generous donation every now and then but secretly.


Answer:

We've been blessed with a cruise and tickets to expensive theme parks, and flights. But sometimes I tell my kids not to tell anyone they've been on a cruise etc. and explain that not everyone has that chance. We are actually jobless and have been blessed by family members on these trips. However, I never expect my higher income friends to ever do anything for us or bless us in any way. We are all on our various journeys. There is a time to make ends meet and a time to prosper but never for once worry about others expecting anything or looking at you wrongly. We are sincerely excited for our friends who are better off because we know that our time will come too. Our situation will not be forever.

Lazy teens

A teen is not a kid anymore. Then again, boys mature about 3 years slower, so just take that into account.  When faced with lazy teens, we need to find out the root issue — is it a spirit of laziness? It has to be addressed. He needs to know that it is a spirit and not him. And that he has to fight it. And what happens when spirits like that are not warded off. And how they can ultimately possess a person when entertained and given into. If it’s not laziness, it is a lack of motivation. What do they really have in mind that is really bothering them or they are inspired about and work on that.

Woman Leadership

I am convinced of God’s call upon my life. And am prepared to do anything He asks me to do, whether I receive approval from anyone or not.  It’s so important to read the Bible in context and to know the history of Corinth and how the women in their temples were prostitutes calling the men to have sex with them as part of their religious ceremony; and how they thought the church would be the same.
